Szlubowska Duo, a Mother/Daughter Duo will be performing beautiful classical Violin and Piano Music. Marta Szlubowska is a Concert Violinist and the Concertmaster of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. Danuta Szlubowska is a concert pianist and world-renowned pedagog (Warsaw Conservatory, Millsaps College). You will hear Romantic, Classical and 20 Century gems by Debussy, Paganini (24th Caprice!), Mozart, Dvorak, Wieniawski and more. A very special piece on the program will be the Caprice No. 2 (1952) by the Polish woman composer, Grażyna Bacewicz (1909-1969), which is full of violin virtuosity and exciting rhythms so characteristic of Bacewicz’s music. There may also be some gypsy and Christmas music as encores, so make sure you come and join us! Suggested donations $20 adults, $5 children and students. The event will be at First Presbyterian Church of Canton and starts at 3pm.
