DO THE STUFF – by Shawn Hoffman
Matthew 10 paraphrased:
Jesus trained up His disciples to GO into the world and do the following: to take care of the sick and to pray for a healing for those crippled in sin – to share the Gospel of Jesus to those we encounter. He sent us to be teachers, as well as students. He sent us to acknowledge Christ as our Savior and to love God with all our hearts, which means to love God above all and submit to His plan. He sent us to take care of the children. He sent us to deny ourselves and to pick up our cross and follow Him. He sent us to go find the one sheep who has strayed away and return him to the flock. He sent us to “DO THE STUFF.”
Are you on a path to becoming a disciple of Jesus? Jesus said that if we lay down our own selfish ambitions and concentrate on helping others come to know Him, by our own sacrifice of what we, as sinners saved by grace, want to do, and do what our Father directs us to do, we will be rewarded for all eternity. A wonderful man of God, Jack Nazary, taught his church a saying once upon a time which has always stuck with me: “Jesus didn’t save us to sit down and sit – He saved us to get up and get!” Do the Stuff.

*The Leadership at Church of the ARC coined the phrase “Do the Stuff” according to Hoffman. One Sunday morning, the pastor’s message was on Matthew 10 (Do the Stuff). Then leadership had a meeting around Christmas. Hoffman suggested putting the phrase on a T-Shirt. “It was God’s idea, and the church followed the lead.”
Amen!!!
YES! We have to put feet to those prayers. Thanks for sharing! GOD bless!
